Have a Goalrilla Basketball Hoop? Here are a few fun ideas to include all your family and friends in the final round of March Madness!

March Madness, also known as the NCAA Basketball Tournament for any non-sports fans, is in full swing already! The field of 64 teams has already been narrowed down to 4 and the games start up again this week. If you have a young basketball fan in your home, March Madness is a great time to get them involved in the tournament both educationally and recreationally. Even if you didn’t get a chance to fill out a bracket before the tournament began, it’s not too late to get the kids excited about basketball! Here are a few ways to do just that using your Goalrilla Basketball Hoop:

Goalrilla Basketball Hoop– Find the team locations for a geography lesson. There are 4 teams left from all over the country and it would be a fun U.S. geography lesson to find each of the university locations on a map. After you find them, you can take it a step further and discuss how far each team had to travel for their next game or even research fun things to do in each team’s city. You may even decide where to go on your next vacation!

– Plan your own March Madness basketball tournament. Invite your friends and neighbors over for a “pick-up” game tournament. Depending on the number of players, divide the teams evenly and create a bracket for the event. Teams can play for 5-15 minutes each, depending on time and availability of goals and will continue to play the winners until there is a winner! If you don’t have enough players and teams for a tournament, hold a “HORSE” tournament with a bracket instead. What a great way to use your Goalrilla Basketball hoop!

– Use team and player statistics to teach a math lesson. Older kids whoGoalrilla Basketball Hoop comprehend division and percentages will think it’s fun to take player or team statistics and figure out their free throw, field goal and 3-point goal shooting percentages.

– Throw a March Madness party. Not having a team in the tournament shouldn’t’ keep you from throwing a party! Invite your friends and neighbors to dress up in their favorite team colors – even if their teams aren’t playing in the tournament either! Have guests guess the final outcomes of the games and ask them to bring their favorite basketball-themed food (cupcakes that look like basketballs, team color cookies, etc.).
